About the Artist:
The inspiration behind my portraits lies in the crossroads of cultures and ethnicities I’ve been exposed to whilst living the last decade around Asia. There is stylistic harmony in the characters I paint, symbolizing the connections that we experience every day. Our wider connection to the natural world is represented through soft floral patterns, geometric shapes and vivid colour combinations.
The silhouettes of the bodies are lesser defined, drawing the viewer’s focus to the gaze of the protagonists. Whilst we see no distinct emotions, each has a clear strength and depth of character that invites the viewer to reach their own conclusions as to personalities and inner worlds.
There is beauty in our uniqueness; with these portraits we celebrate the fearless and the bold.
